the barn's theatrical seasons

two by two, 2025

The Barn’s 2025 season opened with SWEET BIRD, The Goat Exchange’s stripped-down, irreverent reimagining of the Tennessee Williams classic. Broadway’s Bianca Leigh (Oh, Mary!) starred as Princess Kosmonopolis, joined by Marcus Amaglo (Jason, Deadclass, Ohio) as Chance and Chloe Claudel as Heavenly. Then, 2024 Barn Resident Ankita Sharma returned with Even Cowboys Get the Blues—a denim-clad, dance-theater fever dream about TikTok, puppets, and the digital wreckage of Manifest Destiny, created with Danny Archibald and 3ISSA.

Together, the two productions formed Two by Two, a season-long exploration of dualism in all its forms: physical and digital, past and present, reality and myth. Both shows offered a trick mirror of the American dream, revealing the intimate strangeness of looking back.

new works, 2024

The Barn at Lee's inaugural public season, New Works, featured a lineup of three weekends of performances. The season opened with an adaptation of Antigone, co-created by Misha Brooks and Zach Donovan. It also featured All this newness, a breathtaking site-specific piece by Nazareth Hassan, and the compelling one-woman show My Own Private Final Destination, written and performed by Alexandra McVicker and directed by Donovan.
